Maureen Gleason to speak on Mental Health Parity
Birmingham, Ala. —April 13, 2010 —American Behavioral’s Maureen Gleason has been tapped to speak at the Benefits Selling Expo Conference April 20th in Washington D.C. Gleason, the company’s vice president of operations, is considered an expert source in the area of Mental Health Parity, and was recently spotlighted as the cover story for Benefits Selling magazine.
Her topic, “Mental Health Parity—Are You Ready?” discusses the interim final regulations for implementation of the mental health parity act and the significant changes that employers, providers and health care plans are making in benefit plan designs and delivery of services.
Gleason also will share information about what financial and treatment limitation changes are required by the new law and what the potential cost for employers will be for providing mental health and substance abuse services on the same level as the medical/surgical benefits.
“During this time of rapid change in the health care industry, our company is focused on providing timely and valuable information regarding how mental health benefits are administered,” said Allen S. Blackwell, president of American Behavioral. “Maureen is an excellent source to provide this information to a national audience of conference attendees.”
The Benefits Selling Expo serves as the industry's premier educational and networking event for benefits brokers, agents, consultants and providers. Each year approximately 1,000 professionals attend the Expo to obtain the latest and most practical tools, tips, trending pattern, developments and other critical information to help them shape their strategic and tactical sales plans.
