AMERICAN BEHAVIORAL JOINS NATIONAL HEALTH RESEARCH GROUP

Birmingham, Ala. Aug. 28, 2008 — American Behavioral has been accepted to join the Health Enhancement Research OrganizationÒ (HERO), the company announced today.

HERO is a national research-oriented, not-for-profit coalition of organizations with common interests in health-related issues, with a major emphasis on prevention. The organization counts many large national and international companies, such as 3M, Boeing, Dow Chemical and Kellogg Company, among its members.

Membership in HERO will allow American Behavioral to take a leadership role in national strategy, policy and best practices education for employee health management and to network with other experts in the field.

“We are certainly excited to be accepted into HERO. Our inclusion in this prestigious group dovetails with the interest of American Behavioral to compete on a national level,” said Maureen J. Gleason, vice president of operations for American Behavioral.

Gleason will attend the HERO Forum for Employee Health Management Solutions in New Orleans this September.

American Behavioral’s membership in HERO further demonstrates the company’s leadership in the behavioral health care industry. The company is also a member of the National Behavioral Consortium, an exclusive, invitation-only organization of behavioral health companies. Allen S. Blackwell, president and CEO of American Behavioral, serves as the organization’s president-elect for 2007-2008, and will assume the title of president for 2008-2009.
