5/11/2007 - Blackwell named to Board of Directors of National Behavioral Consortium

(BIRMINGHAM, ALA. - May 10, 2007) - Allen S. Blackwell, president and CEO of Birmingham-based American Behavioral, has been selected to serve on the board of directors of the National Behavioral Consortium (NBC).

 

Blackwell has also been elected as the organization's president-elect for 2007-2008 and will assume the title of president for 2008-2009.

 

"I am proud to represent American Behavioral," said Blackwell. "This honor is simply a testament to the growth and recognition of the strength of American Behavioral on a national level."

 

Blackwell said his membership on the Board should increase American Behavioral's visibility on the national scene and better position American Behavioral to draw on the strengths available from an affiliation with other comparable behavioral healthcare management organizations.

 

Formed in 1998, NBC is an exclusive corporation of regionally managed behavioral healthcare organizations whose mission is to promote growth and betterment of the industry and positively impact national healthcare and managed-care issues. The NBC Board is composed of only five members, representing the various member organizations based strategically throughout the nation.
